Our Vineyard
Vineyard Heritage
Established in 1985, Island Brook Estate has been part of Margaret River’s winemaking landscape for over four decades. Nestled among native jarrah forest north of Margaret River, the estate is home to established vines and its iconic old red truck, a much-loved symbol of Island Brook’s history and character.
The roots of Island Brook Estate trace back to the planting of the Metricup vineyard. The founders recognised the potential of the well-drained gravel loam soils and carefully selected grape varieties that harmonised with the unique terroir. This marked the beginning of a journey to produce wines that capture the essence of the Margaret River wine region.
Since taking ownership in 2023, Jill and Paul O’Callaghan have embraced the estate’s heritage while bringing renewed energy and a thoughtful vision for its future.
Growing with care
At Island Brook Estate, sustainability is at the heart of how we care for our vineyard. As a certified sustainable vineyard, we are committed to responsible practices that support the long-term health of our vines, protect the land and preserve the natural environment that surrounds us.
Guided by a deep respect for our unique Margaret River setting, we take a thoughtful approach to every stage of the growing process. Our grapes are carefully nurtured and hand-picked, allowing us to create wines that reflect the character of our vineyard and the unique environment in which they are grown.
