Our Story

A new chapter began for Island Brook Estate when Jill and Paul O’Callaghan took ownership of the property. Drawn to its rich history, established vineyard and peaceful setting among the native jarrah forest, they saw an opportunity to preserve the unique character of the estate while bringing fresh energy and a new vision for its future. With a deep appreciation for Margaret River’s wine culture and the natural beauty of the region, Jill and Paul set out to revitalise Island Brook as a place where wine, nature and genuine hospitality come together. Their vision was not simply to renew the estate, but to create a welcoming destination where visitors could slow down, discover locally grown wines and experience the character of this special part of Margaret River.

Bringing the estate to life

Since taking ownership, Jill and Paul have thoughtfully refurbished the estate’s accommodation, transforming the chalets into peaceful retreats that combine modern comfort with the charm of their vineyard and forest setting.

The cellar door has also been revitalised, creating a relaxed and welcoming space where guests can discover Island Brook wines, enjoy the surroundings and connect with the story behind the estate. Every improvement has been guided by a desire to honour Island Brook’s heritage while creating meaningful experiences for a new generation of visitors.

Looking Ahead

Today, Island Brook Estate continues to evolve while remaining connected to the land, history and sense of place that make it unique. Jill and Paul’s vision is to build on the estate’s foundations and share the best of Island Brook through thoughtfully grown wines, warm hospitality and memorable stays among the vines and jarrah forest.
